Carry An Epinephrine Auto-Injector With You At All Times

Children with severe food allergies may have reactions at any time for even trace amounts of the allergen in or near their food. Some children have peanut allergies that are so severe, that even a kiss from someone who has recently eaten peanuts can cause anaphylaxis.

As such, it is important that you carry a quick fix for such allergic reactions with you at all times. An epinephrine auto-injector can be used in an emergency situation to stop anaphylaxis and allow your child to breathe easier until they can receive emergency medical attention. Whenever you are out and about with your child, you should have an epinephrine auto-injector with you. You should also have one in the school nurse's office and other important locations such as the emergency first aid kits in your home and car to be sure that your child is always safe.
